Seychelles is taking steps to strengthen its national immunisation programme through renewed discussions on vaccine access, supply and safety.

The Ministry of Health met representatives of Biocom Ltd on September 1, 2026, with discussions focused on strengthening vaccine availability and safety in Seychelles.

The engagement comes as the island nation continues to place importance on maintaining strong vaccination coverage and protecting the population against preventable diseases.

Reliable vaccine supplies are an important part of health-system preparedness, particularly for an island country that depends heavily on secure and timely access to medical products.

Seychelles has already achieved major public-health milestones. The World Health Organization certified the country in 2025 for eliminating childhood measles and rubella, placing Seychelles among the first sub-Saharan African countries to reach that achievement.

The latest discussions could therefore help reinforce the systems supporting those gains, while ensuring that vaccines remain accessible and safely managed.

Strengthening vaccine supply and safety will remain important for Seychelles’ long-term health security, particularly as the country continues monitoring infectious-disease risks and maintaining high standards of preventive healthcare.
