MONROVIA — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has held high-level talks with Liberia’s Senate leadership as the government moves to strengthen cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches.

The July 14 meeting focused on governance, national development, national security, and sustained dialogue between the Presidency and the Liberian Senate.

Political observers say stronger coordination between the two branches could improve the government’s ability to advance key national priorities. The discussions also highlighted the importance of cooperation on issues affecting peace, stability, and the welfare of Liberian citizens.

The meeting brought together Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Senate President Pro Tempore Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, and other senior senators alongside key Executive Branch officials.

The President and Senate leadership agreed to maintain regular engagement as Liberia works to improve coordination on national policy and development priorities.

The meeting highlights the Boakai administration’s effort to build closer institutional cooperation and strengthen dialogue at the highest levels of government.
