BAMAKO, Mali — Mali has launched a new assessment of its business and investment climate through discussions between the government and Bloomfield Investment Corporation.

Prime Minister General Abdoulaye Maïga received a Bloomfield delegation in Bamako on September 29, 2026, as the financial-rating agency undertakes a reassessment of Mali’s business environment.

The assessment is intended to provide greater visibility for investors regarding Mali’s overall economic situation and could support decision-making around investment and access to financial markets.

According to the government, the review is being conducted within the framework of Mali’s national development vision and the SNEDD 2024–2033 strategy.

The discussions come as Mali seeks to mobilise domestic and international resources for economic development. The African Development Bank has also highlighted domestic revenues, national savings, diaspora remittances, private capital and regional financial markets as potential sources of development financing for the country.

Bloomfield’s reassessment therefore puts Mali’s investment climate and access to finance under renewed attention as authorities work to attract capital and support economic activity.
