TUNIS — Tunisia is strengthening its renewable-energy investment pipeline after the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) approved a €13.05 million guarantee to support a 100 MW solar power project in the country.
The guarantee is expected to help reduce investment risks and support the development of new clean-energy infrastructure as Tunisia works to expand renewable power generation.
Business analysts say the project highlights growing international confidence in Tunisia’s renewable-energy market. New solar investments could help attract additional private capital while supporting the country’s efforts to diversify its energy mix.
The project is also expected to create opportunities for engineering companies, construction firms, energy-service providers, and other businesses involved in the clean-energy supply chain.
International backing for the project comes as Tunisia faces rising demand for reliable electricity and seeks to accelerate investment in solar and other renewable technologies.
The new guarantee strengthens Tunisia’s position as an emerging destination for renewable-energy investment in North Africa.
As solar projects expand, the sector could become an increasingly important driver of infrastructure development, business activity, and long-term economic resilience.
