TUNIS — Tunisia’s government is intensifying efforts to speed up the implementation of public projects as the country prepares to launch programmes and reforms under its 2026–2030 Development Plan.

Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri has called for faster execution of public projects across the country and stronger efforts to stimulate both public and private investment.

The government’s latest direction places project delivery, administrative efficiency, and regional development at the centre of Tunisia’s next political and economic phase.

The plan is expected to guide reforms and investment programmes covering major areas including energy security, food security, housing, healthcare, transport, and social programmes.

Government officials are also focusing on improving the performance of public institutions and strengthening governance systems to ensure projects deliver more effective services to citizens.

Political observers say the success of the 2026–2030 Development Plan will depend heavily on how quickly projects move from government planning to implementation across Tunisia’s regions.

The renewed focus on project acceleration signals a broader effort by the government to connect national development policy with visible improvements in public services and investment opportunities.
