VICTORIA, Seychelles — Seychelles is stepping up efforts to improve healthcare delivery after the Health Ministry received the findings of an internal audit of nursing services at Seychelles Hospital.

The audit was presented to Health Minister Dr Marvin Fanny in August and was conducted by a team of three retired nurses. It forms part of the ministry’s wider effort to strengthen governance, accountability and patient-centred healthcare.

Nursing services remain a key part of Seychelles Hospital’s daily operations, supporting patients across different wards and clinical units.

The review is expected to help identify areas where nursing services can be strengthened while improving quality and patient safety.

The initiative comes as Seychelles pursues broader healthcare reforms focused on improving services, supporting health workers and modernising the national health system. The Ministry of Health currently oversees hospitals and primary healthcare services across the islands.

The audit therefore represents another step toward more accountable, efficient and patient-focused healthcare delivery in Seychelles.
