RABAT — Morocco has launched a new national white paper on artificial intelligence in healthcare, marking a major step toward guiding the responsible adoption of AI technologies across the country's health system.

The document was developed after more than a year of research, expert consultations, and input from healthcare professionals and patients. It provides a framework for using artificial intelligence to improve medical services, support innovation, and strengthen healthcare decision-making.

Health experts say artificial intelligence could transform diagnosis, patient management, medical research, and healthcare planning when implemented responsibly. The roadmap includes recommendations covering technology adoption, data governance, professional training, innovation, and the future development of AI-powered healthcare services.

The initiative also highlights the importance of involving healthcare professionals and patients in the development of new digital medical technologies to ensure that innovation responds to real healthcare needs.
