Liberia has taken a fresh step toward decentralizing public administration with the groundbreaking of a new Civil Service Agency (CSA) Southeast Regional Headquarters in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County.
The project was announced on August 19 as part of efforts to strengthen the presence and coordination of Liberia’s civil service outside the capital, Monrovia.
The new regional facility is expected to improve coordination between the Civil Service Agency and government institutions operating across southeastern Liberia.
The project could make public-service administration more accessible to government workers and institutions in the region, while supporting more efficient implementation of national civil-service policies.
The development also highlights the government’s broader efforts to strengthen institutions and improve administrative services across Liberia’s counties.
For residents and public-sector workers in the southeast, the new headquarters could become an important center for government coordination, civil-service support and regional administration once completed.
The groundbreaking represents another development in Liberia’s push to move key government functions closer to communities outside Monrovia.
