Guinea and WHO Advance New Strategy to Strengthen Health System
CONAKRY, Guinea — Guinea and the World Health Organization (WHO) are moving forward with a new cooperation strategy aimed at addressing the country's key health priorities.
The strategy was presented on August 7, 2026, following a participatory process that identified Guinea's main priorities in the health sector as well as concerns raised by technical and financial partners.
The new framework is expected to guide cooperation between Guinea and WHO while supporting efforts to improve health services, strengthen coordination and respond more effectively to the country's public-health challenges.
The initiative comes as Guinea continues broader reforms of its healthcare system, including efforts to improve access to quality care and strengthen the country's capacity to respond to health emergencies.
The updated cooperation strategy could become an important reference for Guinea's health-development agenda, particularly as authorities seek stronger partnerships and more effective investment in the sector.
