ACCRA — Ghana is expanding its national technology ecosystem through a strengthened AI innovation hub aimed at accelerating artificial intelligence research, cloud computing adoption, startup growth, and digital entrepreneurship.

The initiative brings together technology companies, universities, startup incubators, and innovation partners to support the development of AI-powered solutions across finance, healthcare, agriculture, education, logistics, and public services.

Technology experts say artificial intelligence is becoming a major driver of Ghana’s digital economy. The innovation hub is expected to provide entrepreneurs and software developers with access to research facilities, mentoring, cloud infrastructure, and collaboration opportunities that encourage technology commercialization.

The programme also includes expanded digital-skills training in machine learning, cybersecurity, software engineering, robotics, and data science, helping prepare a new generation of technology professionals for emerging industries.

Industry analysts believe stronger collaboration between academia, government, investors, and private technology firms will attract additional investment while strengthening Ghana’s position as one of West Africa’s leading technology and innovation destinations.

The latest AI initiative reflects Ghana’s ambition to build a competitive digital economy powered by innovation, skilled talent, and advanced technology infrastructure.
