Liberia is stepping up its digital transformation efforts through new cooperation with Sierra Leone on e-governance and digital public services.

The discussions brought together Liberia’s Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Sierra Leone’s National Public Procurement Authority and Liberia’s Public Procurement and Concessions Commission. The focus was on using digital technology to make government institutions more efficient, transparent and accountable.

As part of the cooperation, the LTA received electronic equipment to strengthen its use of Liberia’s national E-Procurement platform.

The initiative highlights the growing importance of digital systems in government procurement and public administration across West Africa.

For Liberia, expanding e-government tools could improve transparency while reducing reliance on traditional paper-based processes. It also provides an opportunity for the country to learn from regional partners as it develops its wider digital infrastructure.

The latest cooperation comes as Liberia continues pursuing a broader digital transformation agenda, with technology increasingly positioned as a tool for improving public services and supporting economic development.

The regional partnership could become an important step toward a more connected and digitally enabled Liberian public sector.
