ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire — Côte d’Ivoire’s private sector is set to receive increased attention from regional development finance institutions as the West African Development Bank (BOAD) steps up efforts to make financing more accessible to businesses.
BOAD presented its financing instruments to Ivorian companies during a business breakfast in Abidjan on October 2, 2026, highlighting opportunities for businesses seeking funding for expansion and investment projects.
The initiative comes as Côte d’Ivoire implements its 2026–2030 National Development Plan, which places significant emphasis on private-sector participation in investment and economic transformation.
BOAD’s financing mechanisms can support businesses and projects across areas including infrastructure, industry, agriculture and other productive sectors.
The engagement also provides an opportunity for Ivorian companies to better understand the requirements and financing structures available through the regional development bank.
With private investment expected to play an important role in the country’s development programme, greater access to regional development finance could support business expansion, productive capacity and employment.
The latest initiative reinforces the role of financial institutions in connecting Ivorian businesses with capital needed for long-term investment.
