HARARE — Zimbabwe is strengthening its presence on the global arts stage through its pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, where five Zimbabwean artists are showcasing contemporary works.

The exhibition, running under the theme “The Nature/Manyonga,” features artists Eva Raath, Pardon Mapondera, Franklyn Dzingai, Felix Shumba, and Gideon Gomo. Their works explore Zimbabwean identity, creativity, resilience, nature, and cultural continuity.

The Zimbabwe Pavilion is reportedly attracting more than 4,000 visitors every week, highlighting growing international interest in the country’s contemporary art scene. Cultural officials say participation in the prestigious exhibition is creating new opportunities for artists while strengthening Zimbabwe’s cultural diplomacy.

The country’s participation also reflects the growing importance of the creative and cultural industries as sources of innovation, employment, tourism, and international visibility.
