ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire — Côte d’Ivoire is set to participate in a new international cultural initiative focused on traditional food and music, as the Taste of Unity project brings together representatives from around 20 countries.
The initiative was discussed during a September 25 meeting between the Regional Directorate of Culture and Francophonie of Abidjan and Blessing Amusa, promoter of Taste of Unity. The ministry reported the development on September 30.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Francophonie, each participating country will have an opportunity to showcase its gastronomic and artistic heritage, creating a platform for cultural exchange through traditional cuisine and music.
The organisers have also requested assistance in identifying three Ivorian chefs who could represent Côte d’Ivoire at the international event. The Abidjan cultural authorities provided guidance on the selection and development of the project.
The initiative highlights Côte d’Ivoire’s efforts to promote its culinary traditions alongside its wider cultural heritage and create opportunities for international cultural connections.
Traditional Ivorian cuisine and music are expected to play a central role in presenting the country’s cultural identity to an international audience.
