SÃO TOMÉ — São Tomé and Príncipe is strengthening primary healthcare services in the Autonomous Region of Príncipe through renewed cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.

The initiative focuses on improving frontline healthcare delivery and strengthening the capacity of local health services to meet the needs of communities across the island.

Health officials say stronger primary healthcare is essential for improving early diagnosis, prevention, and access to medical services. Strengthening services closer to communities can also reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for basic healthcare.
