Sierra Leone’s Standards Bureau has moved to address concerns circulating on social media about the safety and quality of ONGA Maggi seasoning.

The Sierra Leone Standards Bureau (SLSB) said on September 21 that allegations questioning the product’s quality and safety were false and misleading.

According to the Bureau, scientific laboratory tests conducted over the past five years have consistently found ONGA Maggi compliant with Sierra Leone’s national standards.

The statement comes as food-safety claims shared online continue to attract public attention, particularly among consumers who rely on social media for information about products sold in local markets.

The SLSB’s clarification highlights the role of laboratory testing and official standards enforcement in determining whether food products meet national requirements.

Consumers are being urged to distinguish verified information from unsubstantiated claims circulating online.
