Mozambique is stepping up efforts to strengthen cybersecurity and digital trust as authorities develop a new National Cybersecurity Strategy covering 2026 to 2030.
The National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (INTIC) began gathering contributions on September 21 as part of the strategy-development process. The initiative is intended to establish national priorities, concrete actions and financing mechanisms for improving cybersecurity across Mozambique.
The strategy comes as Mozambique expands its digital transformation agenda, increasing the importance of protecting digital infrastructure, data and online services.
INTIC has also recently announced a partnership with KAMALEON to promote digital inclusion in rural areas, including access to information, safer technology use and digital skills.
Mozambique is also participating in the IV Lusophone Internet Governance Forum in Luanda, where issues including artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, data governance, cybersecurity and data protection are being discussed.
The 2026–2030 cybersecurity strategy could become an important framework for protecting Mozambique’s expanding digital economy and public services.
