Guinea is advancing its work on artificial intelligence (AI) planning and digital skills after its Cité des Sciences et de l’Innovation highlighted the country’s participation in a United Nations initiative for national AI strategies.

In a statement published on 23 September 2026, the institution said the framework was launched during Digital Cooperation Day at the UN in New York. Guinea’s participation is intended to help shape a digital ecosystem that supports local expertise and skills development.

The Cité des Sciences et de l’Innovation described Guinea as the second African country to deploy the international framework, which offers a methodological basis for building national AI strategies. The institution said the work is being carried out under the strategic direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The announcement signals a planning step in Guinea’s technology agenda. Further details on the strategy’s implementation, funding, timeline and specific AI projects have not yet been provided in the statement.
