ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia — Ethiopia’s contemporary art scene is gaining fresh momentum as the Fresh Voices Group Exhibition brings the work of six emerging artists to audiences in Addis Ababa.

The exhibition opened on September 5 and runs through October 5, 2026, presenting artists described as new graduates entering the professional art world.

Curated by Dagim D. Abebe, the exhibition highlights new creative perspectives and gives young artists an opportunity to connect with audiences, collectors and the wider Ethiopian art community.

The exhibition is putting emerging talent at the centre of Ethiopia’s contemporary art conversation, rather than focusing only on established names.

The event is being hosted at Ethio-post Headquarters, providing an unusual public setting for contemporary artistic expression in the capital.

The exhibition comes as Addis Ababa continues to develop as an important centre for Ethiopia’s visual-art community, with galleries, cultural institutions and independent artists creating new opportunities for creative expression.

For the participating artists, the exhibition represents an important step from academic training into the professional art world.
