N'DJAMENA — Chad is strengthening its digital transformation agenda through efforts to modernise public administration, e-government services, and digital infrastructure as authorities seek to improve the efficiency of government operations.
The programme, supported through a development initiative assessed by the African Development Bank in July 2026, includes measures aimed at improving public-sector systems and strengthening the technological foundations needed for more efficient administration.
Technology specialists say digital public services could significantly reduce administrative delays and improve access for citizens and businesses. Moving more procedures online can also strengthen record management, improve coordination between government agencies, and make public services easier to access.
The wider reform programme includes public administration modernisation and capacity-building, creating opportunities for Chad to introduce more technology-driven systems into government operations.
Digital transformation could also benefit entrepreneurs by simplifying business-related administrative procedures and improving communication between companies and public institutions.
Industry observers say stronger digital infrastructure and technology skills will be important if Chad is to expand its digital economy and attract technology-related investment.
Chad’s latest digital-government push signals a growing effort to use technology to modernise public administration and build stronger foundations for the country’s future digital economy.
