BANGUI, Central African Republic — The Central African Republic is moving to strengthen the technology infrastructure supporting government operations after a new contract was awarded under the CAR Public Sector Digital Governance Project.

Published on September 9, 2026, the contract covers a technical assessment and rehabilitation studies for the server room and expert facilities at the Central Accounting and Treasury Agency in Bangui. The project is backed by an IDA financing facility and forms part of wider efforts to improve public-sector digital governance.

The contract was awarded to CABINET ATTITUDE GROUPE, with the reported contract value reaching approximately 112.6 million CFA francs. The assignment has a planned duration of 30 days.

Modern and reliable server infrastructure is increasingly important for governments seeking to expand digital public services, secure government data and improve the reliability of electronic administrative systems.

The development comes alongside other technology-related procurement under the same digital-governance programme. On September 2, a separate contract award was published for the acquisition of satellite mobile equipment for several government institutions, including ITIE, SPPK, DGM and URGM.

The broader digital transformation challenge remains significant. Internet Society data for 2026 shows that only 17% of users in the Central African Republic can access online resources through IPv6, while the country has more than 25,000 registered .cf domains.

The latest government technology investments could therefore help build the infrastructure needed for more secure, reliable and digitally enabled public administration in the Central African Republic.
