Burkina Faso has launched FasoSign, a national electronic-signature platform designed to digitise administrative procedures and enable authorised officials to sign and authenticate government documents online.

Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo officially launched the platform in Ouagadougou on 15 September 2026, at a ceremony attended by Digital Transition Minister Aminata Zerbo/Sabane and other government representatives. The initiative is part of the country’s wider plan to modernise public administration.

The government says FasoSign will allow administrative documents to be prepared, validated, signed and transmitted digitally, without requiring every step to involve printing or physically moving files. The platform is also intended to support document authentication and traceability.

Officials have urged ministries and public institutions to adopt the system and establish a schedule for its wider rollout. The announcement did not specify a complete deployment timetable across all government departments.
