KHARTOUM — International pressure on Sudan's warring parties has intensified after the G7 called for immediate protection of civilians and an end to actions that could further endanger communities in and around El Obeid.

The appeal comes amid reports of drone attacks and worsening violence across parts of Kordofan and Darfur, where humanitarian organizations are also facing growing challenges in delivering essential assistance.

The G7 warned that civilians and humanitarian operations must be protected as the conflict continues to deepen the country's humanitarian crisis. The international group also called for unhindered humanitarian access so aid agencies can reach communities affected by fighting, displacement, and shortages of essential supplies.

The United Nations has separately reported continued violence, drone attacks, and growing humanitarian needs across Sudan, while aid agencies warn that conflict and funding shortages are increasing pressure on food security and essential services.

Humanitarian officials say the situation remains particularly serious for displaced families and communities facing limited access to food, healthcare, clean water, and emergency assistance.

The latest international appeal adds to mounting pressure for the protection of civilians and an immediate reduction in hostilities as Sudan's war enters another critical phase.
