KHARTOUM — Sudan is strengthening efforts to protect its cultural heritage through renewed support for the rehabilitation of the Sudan National Museum, one of the country’s most important institutions dedicated to art, archaeology, and history.

UNESCO, Sudanese cultural authorities, the National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums, and international partners have reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the museum and supporting the recovery of Sudan’s threatened cultural institutions.

Arts and heritage experts say the rehabilitation of the National Museum is vital for preserving Sudan’s ancient history and cultural identity. The museum holds collections connected to the country’s rich Nubian, Kushite, and broader African heritage.
