DAKAR, Senegal — Senegal’s digital infrastructure sector is receiving a new boost as STELLARIX Senegal expands its data-centre capacity to support increasing demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence and business-critical digital services.
The expansion, announced on October 2, is designed to increase hosting capacity for companies and organisations while supporting the development of sovereign cloud services and AI applications in Senegal and across Africa.
STELLARIX said the additional capacity is also intended to improve infrastructure resilience and digital sovereignty, as more businesses move workloads and services onto digital platforms.
The expansion involved contributions from Snef, SERTEM Groupe and Kent Data Centres, with STELLARIX operating within the AXIAN Group alongside AXIAN Telecom.
The development comes as Senegal pursues broader digital transformation initiatives covering connectivity, cybersecurity, digital public services, innovation and technology skills.
For businesses and technology developers, increased local data-centre capacity could provide additional infrastructure for cloud platforms, AI solutions and other data-intensive applications.
