DJIBOUTI CITY, Djibouti — Djibouti’s cultural calendar is receiving a major boost as Summer Activities 2026 continue to showcase emerging young artistic talent across the country.
The programme was officially launched at the Théâtre des Salines, combining artistic competitions, educational activities and youth-focused cultural events. Ten young singers qualified for the next stage of the national singing competition during the opening programme.
The competition is continuing with performances every Thursday, leading to the grand final scheduled for August 27, 2026, when the winners of the inaugural edition will be selected.
The Ministry of Youth and Culture says the initiative is designed to give young people opportunities to develop their talents, express creativity and participate in national cultural life.
Other summer activities are also taking place outside the capital, including programmes featuring traditional dances and community cultural events.
The initiative could provide an important platform for Djibouti’s next generation of singers and creative professionals, while strengthening youth participation in the country’s cultural sector.
