Côte d’Ivoire Launches Nationwide Agricultural Survey Across 31 Regions
ABIDJAN, Côte d’Ivoire — Côte d’Ivoire has begun its 2026 national agricultural survey, with the exercise covering all 31 regions of the country.
The initiative, listed among the government’s current activities on August 13, is designed to collect updated information on the agricultural sector and provide authorities with a stronger statistical foundation for policymaking.
Agriculture remains a critical part of Côte d’Ivoire’s economy, supporting millions of livelihoods and supplying major export commodities including cocoa, cashew and other crops.
The new survey is expected to help authorities better understand agricultural production, farming activity and conditions across different regions. More accurate data can also help guide investment, food-security programs and agricultural development policies.
The nationwide exercise comes at an important time for Côte d’Ivoire’s farming sector, as changing weather conditions and market pressures continue to influence agricultural production.
The government’s push for comprehensive agricultural data could therefore play an important role in shaping future policies aimed at improving productivity, supporting farmers and strengthening food security.
