Angola is accelerating its digital transformation with the launch of new connectivity infrastructure in Benguela Province, including a new fibre service and a first broadband link involving Angola Telecom and MST Telecom.
The developments were announced during a September 16 working visit by Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication Minister Mário Oliveira to Benguela. The programme included the launch of the Tudo Nosso Fibra service in Baía Farta and the opening of a broadband link in Lobito.
The new infrastructure is intended to expand internet access and strengthen digital connectivity across the province. Officials also highlighted the need to equip students with digital and technical skills as new technology-driven professions emerge.
The Benguela developments form part of Angola's broader push to expand connectivity and support digital services outside the country's main urban centres.
