BRAZZAVILLE — Young representatives from the Republic of the Congo are bringing the country’s youthful cultural voice to an international audience through their participation in the 2026 International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
Nine Congolese young people are taking part in the festival, which runs from September 11 to 17, according to a report published by Les Dépêches de Brazzaville. Two members of the delegation travelled from Brazzaville on September 9, while the remaining participants followed on September 11.
The international gathering provides an opportunity for Congolese youth to engage with participants from other countries while presenting perspectives shaped by African culture, creativity and contemporary youth expression.
For the Republic of the Congo, participation in such international events can help strengthen the visibility of its young creative community and promote cultural exchange beyond Central Africa.
The delegation’s presence also comes as Brazzaville continues to develop its creative and cultural industries, with festivals and artistic programs providing platforms for emerging musicians, performers and other young creators.
The Yekaterinburg event therefore represents more than a youth gathering: it gives a new generation of Congolese representatives an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas and promote the country’s cultural identity on an international stage.
