Banjul, The Gambia — The Gambia is stepping up efforts to strengthen its creative arts industry through new engagement between the National Centre for Arts and Culture (NCAC) and the newly established Artists Without Borders initiative.

The engagement brought together cultural stakeholders to discuss opportunities for Gambian artists, performers and other creative professionals to gain greater exposure and build connections beyond the country.

The initiative comes as The Gambia seeks to develop its creative economy and give local talent more opportunities to participate in international cultural networks.

For Gambian musicians, performers and other artists, stronger international connections could open new platforms for collaboration, performances and professional development.

The NCAC’s engagement also highlights the growing importance of the creative sector in promoting Gambian culture and national identity while creating opportunities for young people working in the arts.

With international cultural partnerships attracting increasing attention, the latest initiative could provide another pathway for Gambian creative talent to reach audiences beyond West Africa.
