MBABANE — Eswatini is expected to remain among Southern Africa’s strongest-performing economies in 2026, according to African Development Bank growth projections placing the kingdom third among regional economies.
The positive outlook comes as the country continues to attract investment and advance major development projects across different sectors. Recent figures from the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority show that five major projects worth E7.4 billion have moved into implementation, with an estimated 4,850 jobs expected from the investments.
The combination of stronger investment activity and economic growth expectations is creating renewed optimism for Eswatini’s private sector. Manufacturing, infrastructure, services and other productive industries are expected to benefit as investment projects move from planning into implementation.
Economic analysts say continued investment will be important for sustaining growth and creating opportunities for local businesses, suppliers and entrepreneurs.
The outlook also comes as Eswatini works to strengthen its position as an investment gateway into Southern Africa, supported by its proximity to major regional markets.
Eswatini’s latest economic performance is putting the kingdom firmly on the regional business map, while new investment projects could provide an additional boost to jobs and private-sector growth.
