COTONOU — Benin is accelerating industrial development through continued expansion of the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) as new manufacturing investments strengthen export capacity and create employment opportunities.

The industrial zone continues attracting companies involved in textile manufacturing, agro-processing, cashew processing, wood transformation, and light industry, supporting the government's strategy of increasing domestic value addition before export.

Business analysts say GDIZ is becoming one of Benin's most important economic growth engines. Expanded industrial production is helping diversify the economy while improving export competitiveness and strengthening regional supply chains.

Authorities believe the industrial zone will encourage further private-sector investment by providing modern infrastructure, logistics support, and improved access to regional and international markets.

The expansion is also expected to create additional opportunities for local suppliers, transport companies, small businesses, and skilled workers as production capacity continues to grow.

Benin's continued investment in industrial manufacturing highlights the country's ambition to become a leading value-added production and export hub in West Africa.
